Elaine Robles is a Human Capital Analyst in the Diversity and Employee Services Division in Washington, D.C., cultivating an inclusive and collaborative workforce by working on Diversity initiatives for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Office of Mission Support. With over 20 years of federal service, the majority of which has been at the EPA, she has worked to connect students and recent graduates with federal internships and career opportunities, focusing on engaging BIPOC communities to consider environmental careers and internships through partnering with the region. Her work on establishing relationships with colleges, universities, and professional organizations has resulted in several training sessions and webinars. Additionally, she was instrumental in the creation of the first official Mentoring Program for the Society of American Indian Government Employees organization and its Student Leaders council. In addition to having assisted in the successful roll out of the first EPA Green Intern cohort, her current project involves establishing a programmatic pipeline of internships for Indigenous students, resulting in the preparation of applicants for permanent employment opportunities within the Environmental Protection Agency.
