Fredericka is an enrolled member of the Kaw Nation of Oklahoma. She is also Cherokee on her mother’s side. She was a Federal employee for 32 years working at the Department of the Army, Department of Agriculture, Department of the Interior, Environmental Protection Agency, and the Department of the Interior Bureau of Indian Affairs in Washington, D.C. from which she retired five years ago. She has a degree in Human Services and is a Lifetime and Founding Board Member of the Society of American Indian Government Employees (SAIGE). She has served as the Chair of the SAIGE Board of Directors since January of 2014. Fredericka has experience working in Equal Employment Opportunity Programs where she served in many roles within the EEO Office. One special role was Special Emphasis Program Manager (SEPM) for several agencies. While working as an SEPM she was trained in mediation at the Justice Center of Atlanta followed two years later by an advanced course which she used to facilitate agreements between parties, avoiding filing of complaints. She also performed as an EEO Counselor, Mediator, Team Leader, Trainer, Facilitator, and other assorted duties. Fredericka is the spouse of a retired Army veteran and accompanied him to most of his duty stations throughout his twenty years of service. Freddie holds a Lifetime Membership of FEW. Both of her grown children reside in Maryland.
