Monica Jerome is NIFA’s American Indian/Alaska Native Special Emphasis Program Manager, focusing on creating a more diverse, inclusive, and engaged workforce by nurturing and expanding NIFA’s diversity. Also, she is a Program Specialist in NIFA’s Environment Division, working with the McIntire-Stennis Conservation Forestry Research Program, establishing connections, and supporting the institutes within the program.
Originally from the Dakotas, she has maintained a natural resources career in forestry, attending to forest needs and culturally supporting indigenous peoples through storytellers, cultural awareness, and recreating and maintaining aspects of cultural heritage.
